Insert pins are installed into the core or cavity of a mold and are designed to be removable and replaceable, allowing for easier maintenance and improved mold flexibility.

How an Insert Pin Works

         During the molding process, the insert pin is precisely positioned inside the mold according to the part design. When the mold closes, the insert pin occupies a specific area within the cavity, defining the internal shape or feature of the product. Once molten plastic or metal is injected into the mold, the material flows around the insert pin and solidifies, accurately forming the required internal structure.After cooling, the mold opens, and the insert pin remains fixed while the molded part is ejected. In some applications, the insert pin may work together with ejector pins or slide mechanisms to ensure smooth demolding and prevent damage to the part. They are commonly used in molds for automotive components, electronic connectors, medical devices, household appliances, and precision industrial products, where high accuracy and long-term reliability are required.
