Mold Quick Couplers: Basic Knowledge, Principles and Practical Guides
A mold quick coupler is an industrial fitting that lets you connect or disconnect pipelines quickly by hand—no extra tools needed. It has two parts (female coupling and male coupling) that work together, mainly used to transfer cooling water, temperature-controlled oil and other fluids in mold cooling and temperature control systems.
It solves the problems of traditional pipeline connections: taking too long to install and being easy to leak. It’s standardized and compatible with major international brands (Germany’s HASCO, US’s DME, Japan’s NITTO, France’s STAUBLI), fitting mold needs of different industries.
Classification (simple version):
By structure closing: double shut-off (most common), double open, single shut-off
By angle: 180° straight, 90° elbow, 45° elbow
By connection: internal thread, external thread, barbed (for hoses)
By material: copper, stainless steel, aluminum alloy
By use: water-type, oil-type, air-type
Working principle (simple): It uses springs, steel balls, valves and O-rings to connect/disconnect quickly. The double shut-off type (most used) closes both valves when disconnected to prevent leakage; when connected, the valves open, and the O-ring seals tightly.

Simple usage tips:
Choose the right type (material, thread, pressure/temperature rating) based on the fluid and equipment
Connect: Align and insert the two parts until you hear a "click" (lock confirmation); check for leakage after opening the valve
Disconnect: Close the valve first, release pressure, pull the sleeve outward, then pull out the male coupling
Daily maintenance: Keep it clean, check seals regularly, avoid hitting or twisting it
